Kō Iwi is an indigenous owned and spiritually aligned lifestyle brand based in New York.
The phrase kō iwi (pronounced kō ēvē) means “your bones; your interests.” Native Hawai’ians believe bones to be the primary physical embodiment of a person, for within them resides a person’s mana or power; bones are sacred. At Kō Iwi, we create aesthetically pleasing spiritual objects to not only adorn your bones, but to also nurture, protect and empower the mana within and help you on your path.
We value craft and longevity—and hope you do too. All of our pieces are handcrafted here in New York City with the intention and care of lasting quality. Our standards are inspired by personal inherited heirlooms that have endured the relentless, everyday life of not just one generation—but multiple. By creating thoughtfully, we hope to do our part in making the culture of consumption thoughtful as well.
Here at Kō Iwi, we are moved by the meeting of the intangible and tangible. The indigenous and the modern. The physical and the ethereal. Beauty and function. We explore the crossroads of identity to express and honor its complexities—your complexities. Because all of you is worth understanding. All of you is worth healing. All of you is worth expressing and celebrating.
Mahalo for gifting us the opportunity to witness all that is you.
Always relevant to your interests.
This is just the beginning.
We're not much into newsletters but we would still like to invite you on our journey of self-discovery and self-expression. As we continue to grow, we will be posting journal entries here and on Instagram to share the realities and process of being an indigenous femme owned business.
